About the Stud
TARA STUD
consists of 1,000 acres of top quality farm land, and is located
on County Meath, just north of Dunshaughlin, along the main Dublin
to Navan Road. The Meath Region is one of the most historic in Ireland
- the Hill of Tara was the pre Christian domain of the High
Kings of Ireland, while the Tara
Brooch is one of the finest examples of early Irish craftmanship.
First established as a stud in 1906, Tara has a tradition of producing
top quality racehorses, and amoung
the
notable Group & Stakes winners bred there in the recent years are HAYMAKING
(Coronation Stks), WASSL (Irish
2000 Guineas), STAR WAY (Champion
sire in New Zealand), THUNOR
(Railway Stks), HAYLOFT (Molecomb
